Eric's 2022 Movie List

I feel like we missed out on a big Oscar season this year, but the movies released earlier in the year more than made up for it. But rather than feeling passionate about any one particular film this year, I found myself enjoying my top 5 films equally although in completely different ways. I'll add that several performances within this year's films stood out: Brendan Fraser and Hong Chau in "The Whale", Austin Butler in "Elvis", Judd Hirsch in "The Fabelmans", Cate Blanchett in "Tár", and Ana De Armas in "Blonde." These actors owned the screen every second they were on camera. Anyway, I highly recommend you take the time to seek out the top ten or eleven movies on this year's list, and I would say the top fifty or so are worth seeing if you have the time. I regret that I wasn't able to catch up with a few purportedly good films: RRR, No Bears, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, The Northman, Kimi, and Eo to name a few.
